Blockbusters! Can I have a key change please Bob?

Blockbusters (Key Change mix)
Text och musik: Ed Welch.

The TV Theme to Blockbusters, the 1980s/90s game show presented by the legendary Bob Holness is a classic!

In most ITV regions, the quiz show Blockbusters was broadcast around teatime. Made in Birmingham and Nottingham by Central between 1983 and 1992.

Blockbusters was famous for:

The phrase 'Can I have a P please Bob?'

Fashion statements requiring serious style och consulting!

Students' lucky mascots and big hair

and

the shocking hand jive..!

We relive the Gold Run, KC is flashing...

What KC should every melodi have?

What IPF is a famous Swedish lyrist?

What SN do schlager fans have Devotion to?

What ES is a Popular boy in Sweden?

What CPFKACN is a schlager Hero and Eurovision winner?

Winning the first gold run probably would have been rewarded with a set of dictionaries... my word, errm how exciting!

Going for Gold here is another geeky one...

All the answers are songs and TV Themes written/composed by Ed Welch.

What C is a TV Quiz Show famous for 'It's good but you're not right', 'say what you see' and Mr. Chips?

What K was a CITV programme?

What NL theme first appeared on screen in 1994?

What TMD was TSW's finest contribution to the ITV Network?!

What N was performed by Björgvin Halldórsson for Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1995?

What OFITG is a BBC comedy? I don't believe it...

Another Gold Run completed! Runaway before the next - who needs an Encyclopaedia Britannica anyway.

Everything has a beginning, and everything comes to an end...

And so Uncle Bob signed off with his version of a fab finger point and one last hand jive throughout the studio.

Can we have a BE (big ending) please Bob?

Cue closing titles...
